Titan: A Next-Generation Extruder for your 3D Printer

Titan brings high-performance, lightweight extrusion to everyone! All the benefits of geared extrusion in a lightweight, punchy little package.

01. Performance

With 3:1 gear reduction, precision milled hobbed gearing, we’ve developed Titan to push with awesome power, while also being incredibly light and compact.

02. Power

The gear ratio means you’re able to use lighter motors as you’ll need less torque for the same filament pushing force - so direct drive systems have a lighter moving carriage, and bowden-style printers become powerful, reliable little beasts when combined with your V6 HotEnd.

03. Push

Titan works for all configurations of bowden, direct extrusion, 1.75mm and 3mm (3mm direct drive only). To use Titan as a bowden extruder you just insert a bowden adaptor into the body instead of a HotEnd.

04. Speed

Extruders with high gear ratios often struggle with snappy retracts and keeping up with Volcano for big, fast printing. Titan's balanced gearing ratio of 3:1 means that you can cope with fast extrusion situations like Volcano, and the lightweight gear-set gives snappy retractions.

05. Resolution.

Direct-drive extruders can have issues with ‘pulsing’ of flow, because the lower resolution of filament motion results in filament being extruded in pulses. This results in a slight wavy surface finish, and is particularly prevalent when printing at low layer heights. Using 3:1 gearing triples the resolution of the system and allows for smooth printing at the lowest of layer heights, using the smallest of nozzles.

V6 Universal Hotend Block Insulation Silicone Sock - White (V6 Silicone Sock)
These socks will keep your nozzle clean and free of burnt on blackened plastic. They don’t just keep the nozzle clean, but also keep heat inside the hotend, and off the print.
 
Made of a heat-resistant, non-stick silicone material that will repel build-up of molten plastic. This really helps with sticky materials like Co-Polyesters and filled materials that like to build up on nozzles.
 
These also offer a huge boost in temperature stability, particularly if you use high airflow cooling around the nozzle to cool the print. The additional cooling combined with reduced radiation of heat from the block and nozzle to the print really boost the ability to print great overhangs and bridges, all while keeping the hotend temperature extremely stable.
